Falling Backwards Into Mirrors is a collection of poetry grounded in the poetics of the female body. At the same time, it is also a memoir, a layered narrative built on the kind of power found only in the act of writing.
“Falling” offers both grotesque and beautiful moments in which the the author is a reluctant participant, forced to consider the naked architecture of her own flesh. What she sees in her mirror is a delicate structure, the kind that grafts all of us to hope.
